KV Taylor writes things. They're scary and sometimes pretty and always f#@ked. KVTaylor.com works, too. Her not-so-secret superhero/pr0n star identity is Katey Hawthorne. She also writes things, but they involve lots of superpowers and sex. Er, romance. Right, that. KateyHawthorne.com FTW. |
Happy Halloween from Better Book Titles!
Check out the book version: “How Not to Read”
Hehehehhehee
Ahahaha - so true. Sadly, for IT, which is a fantastic book… except for the bit where all the kids decide they can only bond if the boys gangbang the only girl. Srsly, Stephen, what was up with THAT?
My bro and I were JUST discussing how still-scarred we are from the illustrations in the Scary Stories books. Neither of us can hear the name “Harold” without shuddering to this day.
trying to read with a vibrator inside
Here is the video, for anyone curious.
I have to reblog this again bc I just watched the video and I think it’s one of the most perfect things I have ever seen
ok this is a weird reblog from me but OMG HER FACES ARE JUST SO CUTE
She’s trying SO HARD to take the reading part seriously and focus but all her lady bits are having a party and she is just so precious my god
also her facial expressions are pretty good for happy/cute/fluff smut references. My favorite are the last two. PRECIOUS.It’s like looking at a malfunctioning android in slow motion.
I can’t help but think I’d mostly be annoyed. Like, “Excuse me! Some of us up here are trying to read!”
I think I’d be annoyed, too. LMFAO nonetheless, it’s still cute as hell to look at :)
… depends on what I was reading.

This is how I feel when I doing my final edits. So in love with my heroes I can’t bear to say goodbye.
I ALWAYS feel this way when I’m reading.
But when writing, I am like the opposite by the time I get to final edits. I hate everything and everyone so bad and I’m totally convinced that this is because I somehow utterly failed to convey my characters properly and probably ruined the plot too. Also I have the book memorized by then, so there’s no way I can just read it and be all, “Oh, no, it makes sense!” The words don’t even sink through my skull. I end up flinging it at my editor and begging her to tell me I don’t suck.
And then a few days later I realize that was the last time I’ll ever see that book before it’s not mine anymore (because at that point it belongs to anyone who reads it, let’s be real), and I’m all…

B has to distract me with shiny things like superhero movies and cartoons until I return to (as close to) stability (as I ever get).
And then about two months later I manage to read it again and I think it’s kinda cute again. At least, so far. Hoping that pattern holds out, for the sake of what’s left of my sanity.
Writing: it’s terrible for your sanity. Unfortunately, NOT writing is even worse for it, in my case.
